Theology Scout

Actively Contemplating

About

I created Theology Scout as a “collision point,” per se, for my two seemingly opposed interests – Scouting and Theology. It seems that the power of the written word has dramatically diminished in today’s society, with many people referring to syndicated tv shows, Netflix, or other stimuli for content. And, unfortunately, my diagnosis is that this has net negatively impacted the role of the humanities in society, of which I would consider Theology (of course) and Scouting (surprisingly) a part of. Specifically, I think that it is impossible to try to develop a flawless methodology for the guided growth of youth (different parental approaches prove this), and so I consider Scouting, like other avenues for youth development an art.

With this in mind, I aspire for my blog site to be a place for joy in the humanities. Quite often, I anticipate using blog posts to flesh out ideas, call into question assumed norms, or experiment with the wonderful world of the intelligible. Where theology posts may be more intentional, scouting posts are likely to be witty and encouraging! All of this to say, I am looking to this form of media as a sandbox to grow and develop the two areas of my life I am most indebted to!
